There's just something I find fascinating about shadows, just sitting under a tree today, a beautiful mountain scene in front of me, and all I see is the sun shining through the tree and creating this cool image.

This is a doorframe at an older house I tried to get today... Didn't get the house (yet) but thought the doorframe, with its splintered wood was kind of a fun contrast to the newer vinyl siding.

The video card failed on my old laptop, and since I have to have it working fully for my DJ Events, it was almost as expensive to replace the motherboard as it was to get a new machine, so I got a new Laptop. It's red, and of course I had to put a Vette as the desktop background.

I must say, it's been fun watching Michael Phelps swim! Also, the USA Gymnastics team has been stellar! Too bad she missed it.

This is technically the photo I wanted to use for day 51, it's chronologically about an hour older than the lightning photo I used for yesterday.

This is a Drive-By shooting of a police light on the side of the road as I pulled my camera out and tried to time it correctly out the window. I think it's a cool abstract, and I especially appreciate that it's some other schmuck pulled over and not me!

There was a fantastic lightning storm this evening, so I stopped at the Rest Area between Lakepoint and Saltair, overlooking the Great Salt Lake.

Setting the camera on the cement wall, I pointed it towards the lake and set the shutter for 15 seconds.

Not a photo was taken on this day. It was a fun evening watching the opening ceremonies of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, however.

I was originally going to post a picture of Shelly with a mouth full of cake, but the more I thought about it, the more I remembered I valued breathing, so went with my 2nd choice.

I probably should have gotten closer to the ground and shot upward to make this more dramatic.

I learned something about my camera, it doesn't take long distance shots in low light.
This is a fire on a mountain on the other side of the valley. The "Red" is the fire and the "yellow" is a city light of some sort.

Shelly is so cute, she was in my office the other day picking up lunch for her and Anna, and I started finding these Post-It notes hidden all over. I thought I found them all until I came in to do my overnighter and found this one on the back of my door.

She's just the best!
